Personal Commitment

Jovylyn a nineteen years old girl, lives in Davao City, Philippines.

Her hobbies are playing acoustic guitar, singing, bible study and in ministry doing a cell group. She's a leader in their group and active member of the church.

Her Life before she meet God...

She believe that Jesus will save us.

That's what it means to be a Christian, being a Christian does not mean that you're joining a religion, or that you're going to be religious. Rather it is a personal commitment to trust, love and follow Christ.

Since Childhood she grew up in a Christian family, she trained as such are their practices in her church. She is spiritually matured and learned about Christian values.

Her Christian lifestyle before is different because she didn't feel that God is in her life, their teaching and practice in her church is different. Sometimes she felt lonely because her mother is very strict, even the leaders of their church were also strict because they want to focus only in church. For her she cannot satisfied with her life it was like bored because she feel sad and empty, she always stay at home and if they will have a gathering in their church she's gonna be there, until she became a teenager. 

Their practices in church is different with other denomination, even though they teach about Jesus, but they won't using a bible during the service; but every time they will preach, instead of using a bible they put in a folder. Every member of that church or religion need to put a tattoo it means your an anti - Satan. And during Sunday service each member are wearing all white clothes.  That time she was grade six in elementary to belong on that religion, and she's getting used to it with that kind of practice until she already got an exact age to know about herself being a Christian.

For her experience before is not good because of their practices. Its weired for her specially every time they go to church with her family, she felt anxious and shy because of what they wear when they riding a jeep the people were always stare to her and asking themselves why something like that wearing all white.

Long time ago after she got that kind of experience and lost in Church for a years she realized that we need to back in him she felt thirsty in the word of God and she need to find her comfort zone were jovylyn cannot go back in the past on what she had experience before. She's looking for a church and realized that I am a church 

Now she became happy because she had in a right place and already found a church and she belong to Jesus Christ as a child of God. Jovylyn is now serving to God and had a ministry in her church and making a discipleship to the young people and to testified that how God is really grateful.

Talent

God gave her a Talent

Faith is a nineteen years old girl, from USEP an electrical vocational course.

Faith is a talented girl. And she is a part of the music team in church; she played guitar, base, drums and also practicing a keyboard. Wow that is great I’m so amazed because she’s a one women band played a lot of musical instruments, it’s because God gave her a talent. Faith started to played musical instruments at age of twelve years old.   

How did you meet before God?

Since childhood there are times the church will gone, pastor Arnold is one of my mentor in our church, God will use him as an instrument to minister people just like me.

Since I was a second year high school that time, I don’t know what I feel before because of my homo sexualities. I'm pretending that I'm a guy, and I always text a lot of girls, and that time one of my text mates know about me. Then I entered in a wrong relationship. When I was a fourth year high school I've got sick and then I ask God why? Why this happen to me?  I’m struggling and suffered with my sickness for a long time. And I realized that it is too much for me to having that kind of feelings and situation homosexuality which is wrong, the bible says God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. So there is no other than that.

I don’t want to suffer for a long time. I want to change my identity that I had before I need a way out and to make all things new.

Then I ask God for my forgiveness to repent all my sins against him and hope that he will give me another second chance an opportunity to minister people and to serve God. 

God is faithful to find a way out to change my life even were a sinful.

Faith Grace was so thankful because of what God has done for her a lot of experience before, even a lot of failures but God has never been ignore as a children.

Indeed there is hope in Jesus Christ. Faith continues to listen to our program every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. She also agreed to be interviewed and used her testimony to be used in encouraging other young people who also have the same experience as she had before. She is now actively attending a church in Davao City.

Bible verse: Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

A New Life

PRAISETIMONY

Zyra is a nursing graduate student of Davao Doctors College and also volunteer of The Edge Radio. During the praisetimony on the joyride program zyra share something about her life on How God used her life.

How was your life before you meet God?

Before I meet God, My life was lonely, my physical, emotional and spiritual were dry and weak. Sometimes I don’t understand what should I do. When I’m alone I feel lonely and empty. 

 

How did you meet God?

I grew up from a Christian family, so it’s normal for me being a Christian.

Since childhood my parents taught me regarding Christian values especially on reading bible.

I was never a bad influence to anyone. Many of them told me that I am always serious and i dont hang out with other people or friends and they said that I am more focus with my life.

I’m a shy girl and I don’t want to talk people especially if I don’t know them.

How I get to know Him?

During the hard times I felt being alone in this world nobody can support me, nobody can care for me, nothing can help me if I had a problems and if I really want need  help. But later, I realized that there is somebody will love me and that is God. I realized that I was wrong I thought that my life is hopeless and nobody can help as. But the only God can help us and he’s still there to abide us in every time when I struggling, every time in our troubles   

But now I’m happy and confident to face my new life with another opportunity and challenges that God gave me an opportunity to serve him and a new creation to restore everything and to become Christ like.

Bible Verse: Romans 5:3 – 4

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.
